A sizable factory that was part of government funded WWII industries. They produced springs and dampeners for military equipment during WWII (Shimmery dampers, shock absorbers, hydraulic cylinders, recoil dampers). And firearms (Machine guns, 30 Cal., Machine guns, 50 Cal.). The company itself supplied shock absorbers and other equipment to Ford, but it is not clear if any of those products were made at this facility. The plant apparently closed in the 1970s as the company moved it's manufacturing elsewhere. The site was cleaned up under the US Superfund laws in recent years.
